A 1995 graduate of the University of Aberdeen has won the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland’s Gold Medal, the top prize from the Institute. Sarah Kidd, who is employed by WD Johnston & Carmichael, collected the prize from a field of nearly 200 candidates.
In addition to the Gold Medal, Sarah took the two other top ICAS awards, also receiving the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ Prize, given each year to the winner of the Gold Medal, and the Walid Chorbachi Prize – First Part.
The Gold Medal is awarded to the candidate whose performance in the Test of Professional Skills and the Test of Professional Expertise as a whole is judged to be the most meritorious. The Walid Chorbachi Prize – First Part is given to the candidate whose performance is judged to be first in the June diet of the Test of Professional Expertise. The Prize is given in three parts.
Sarah’s list of successes began last year, when she scooped the Accountancy Age award for ICAS’s New Accountant of the Year.
Sarah graduated from the University in 1995 with a Bachelor in Land Economy (Hons) degree, and works primarily with Johnston & Carmichael’s agricultural and agri-business clients.
