Over 1000 students are expected to visit this year's Careers Information Fair at the University of Aberdeen tomorrow (Wednesday November 12) at the Elphinstone Hall, Old Aberdeen to find out more about future employment and study opportunities.
More than 40 employers from a variety of different sectors will be represented at tomorrow's event - the longest-running careers fair in the North-east of Scotland. A strong emphasis will be placed this year on engineering and finance with big employers such as Shell, AMEC, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and Deloitte will have a significant presence at this year's event.
For the first time this year representatives from the Federation of Small Businesses and Scottish Enterprise will be in attendance giving information on self-employment and new business start-ups. Information on gap-year opportunities will also be available from organisations such as VSO, Link Overseas Exchange and World Exchange.
Regina Jaschke, Careers Adviser and event organiser is expecting a very good turn-out at this year's event: "All third and fourth year students as well as postgraduate students at both Aberdeen universities have been invited to attend. We are looking forward to a very interesting day and hope to top the attendance of 1100 last year. This event comes at time an important time of year for students considering employment or further study. It is also a great opportunity for current students to hear directly from a wide range of employers what exactly they look for when recruiting graduates."
