Key issues to be addressed at annual oil and gas event

The effect of global events on the oil price and the uncertain economic environment will be just some of the key topics to be discussed at an annual oil event next month.

Senior figures in the oil and gas industry will meet at the University of Aberdeen for the annual Overview of the North Sea Oil and Gas Industry training event, which has been organised and hosted by the College of Physical Sciences.

The two-day conference, which is now in its 11th year, offers an opportunity for the non-specialist to find out more about the oil and gas industry in the North Sea.

The oil and gas sector will continue to impact upon many areas of the workforce, which help to sustain this vital industry. This event provides a unique opportunity to increase business effectiveness; with the range of topics and the calibre of speakers, delegates will gain a complete overview of the oil industry in just two days.”

Professor John Wils, formally UKOOA's Director for Operations and Technical Affairs, will chair this year's event. He has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Over the two-day event he will draw each function of the industry together and lead debates, asking the questions you want answered.

Previous delegates have included marketing managers, corporate communications executives, senior recruitment consultants, directors of corporate finance, information systems analysts, administrative personnel, lawyers, and personnel officers.

This year's programme will focus on a wide range of oil-related disciplines and current, key issues.

The conference will take place at the King's College Centre, University of Aberdeen, on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 November 2004. Places are still available but the event is expected to be a sell out. The early bird fee to attend the conference is £415 (if booked by October 18, 2004); full fee is £580; and the academic rate is £450.
