Aberdeen author stars at World Book Day event

An Aberdeen author travelled to Leeds today (Thursday) to help launch a new short story series on World Book Day.

Dr Wayne Price, a Teaching Fellow in the School of Language and Literature, has contributed to the new short story collection, Bonne Route (Route).

Billed as an ideal reading choice for commuters, the stories wander off the beaten track and reflect on the moments which change people's direction in life.

Route spokesperson Isabel Galan said she was delighted to welcome Wayne to Leeds.

"We were very pleased to have him at the launch on World Book Day.

"His story, There is a Saviour, is part of a heart-warming and spirited collection of modern tales that illustrate that it is often the smallest of things that lead us on to a different path – a joke, a letter, a photograph, a drink, or a dream."

Bonne Route is a title in the acclaimed Route series of contemporary stories and features contributions from twelve authors including M Y Alam, Anthony Cropper, Sophie Hannah and Wayne Price.

Editor Ian Daley has compiled several short story anthologies, including the highly regarded Warehouse, the critically applauded Naked City as well as Ideas Above Our Station.
