Aberdeenshire Council Leader Anne Robertson has made a £1,000 donation, on behalf of Aberdeenshire Council, towards Aberdeen Breast Centre.
The presentation was made to Professor Steve Heys on Tuesday, December 18, at 9.30am in the Atrium at the University of Aberdeen's IMS building at Foresterhill.
Council Leader Anne Robertson said: "I am thrilled to make this donation to Aberdeen Breast Centre.
"Breast cancer affects many people and families, not only in the north-east, but across the country and hopefully this contribution can help in to find new ways of fighting breast cancer, as well as providing invaluable support."
Director of the Cancer Research Programme at the University of Aberdeen, Professor Heys, said: "We are delighted to receive the support of Aberdeenshire Council for research into this common condition.
"We are making exciting advances in the fight against breast cancer and this latest donation will help further our efforts."
