A human red ribbon will be formed on King's Playing Fields this Friday (November 30)to mark World AIDS Day.
University staff and students, health professionals and others who want to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS will don red-shirts, sponsored by KCA Deutag, to make the human ribbon.

The event is one of a number of initiatives organised by the Grampian multi-agency World AIDS Day (WAD) Group to help reduce the stigma of HIV and AIDS in Grampian.
New HIV infections continue to occur. The message being conveyed by this year's WAD activity focuses on condom use and encouraging discussion about HIV and AIDS.
Dr Steve Baguely, Consultant in Genito-Urinary Medicine for NHS Grampian, said:
"HIV and other sexually transmitted infections continue to increase in Grampian. Unprotected sexual intercourse continues to be by far the most important risk factor for people newly diagnosed with HIV.
"We as professionals, organisations and individuals must take notice and act in ways that will protect others and ourselves. Remember to protect others and yourself, – use a condom"
