Spooky Halloween tales and batty activities will be part of the fun-packed agenda for a special Halloween weekend at the University of Aberdeen later this month.

The University is offering free places for six to 10-year-olds to join the Natural History Centre’s Mandy Tulloch and master storyteller Sheena Blackhall for a Halloween weekend from Saturday, October 29 – Sunday, October 30, in The Old Town House, Old Aberdeen.

The children will be entertained with a spooky selection of tales and will also have the opportunity to find out about bats and get hands-on with craft activities.

Mandy Tulloch, the Natural History Centre's Development Co-ordinator, said: "With it coming up to Halloween what could be better than having fun listening to spooky stories and finding out about bats in a really old building!

“The children will also be special guests of the University as they will be among some of the first people in the newly refurbished Old Town House. It's going to be great fun!"

The weekend of Halloween fun marks the launch of The Old Town House’s educational programme and will be the first public event of its kind after the grand opening of the building next Friday (October 21). The Old Town House is one of Old Aberdeen’s most famous landmarks, which has been restored to its former glory thanks to an £800,000 transformation.

The Halloween sessions will run on Saturday (Oct 29), from 1pm – 2pm and on Sunday (Oct 30) from 11am – 12noon, or 1pm – 2pm.

To book your free place, contact the University’s Office of External Affairs on (01224) 273874.
